Welcome to the Pacific Northwest Home Gardener. This site is devoted to residence gardeners in all places who plan, dream, and work very laborious of their chosen backyard areas. We are long time gardeners right here at our family farm, Grand Point Farm. Our farm is situated in the upper foothills on the North aspect of the Olympic Mountains in Washington State. From the North pasture, on a transparent day, we can look throughout the Strait of Juan de Fuca into Southwestern Canada. We have now labored in clay, sand, rocky and superb loam soils. Each soil sort has demanded arduous work, sweat, and getting a sore spot somewhere on our bodies. But, the rewards have been and are at all times plenty of potatoes, corn, and a variety of nice vegetables, fields of grains, fruit, berries, nuts, mushrooms, lovely flowers, a phenomenal lawn, fresh fish and a few nice timber. One of our favourite resting areas is beside a large basalt boulder that is amongst a grove of tall, big, and historic Fir and Cedar timber.
